美东河南同乡会、
河南同乡会强调，募款将严格依照法定程序，
活動於12日上午在法拉盛圖書館前正式開跑，為孟昭文募款及徵集簽名，人氣最旺的圖書館募款攤位，不到兩小時便已蒐集近百簽名。
美東河南同鄉會會長蘇殿奎表示，孟昭文的母親祖籍河南新鄭，而做為河南的女兒，孟昭文多年熱心協助鄉親。11月6日的普選是送孟昭文進國會的關鍵之戰，三個社團，六個募款地點，希望每人捐十元，盡速完成萬人簽名的目標。「十塊錢每個人都有，但華人進入國會的機會卻不常有」。

The June 26 Democratic Primary Election in New York’s 6th Congressional
District is just a week away, and Grace for New York has all the momentum.
We’ve raised $750,000 from over 650 individuals and run a robust, grassroots
ground operation that has knocked on over 100,000 doors and made over
200,000 phone calls. The New York Times and El Diario have endorsed us,
joining dozens of elected officials, community leaders, and labor and
advocacy organizations including Congressman Gary Ackerman, Congressman Joe
Crowley and the Democratic Organization of Queens, Emily’s List, the United
Federation of Teachers and the Hotel
Trades Council.
In the most significant and coveted endorsement in this race, The New York
Times said, “Ms. Meng knows how to build bridges, but she is also prepared
to fight.” El Diario – the Spanish-language newspaper of record in the
Latino community, which accounts for nearly 15 percent of Democratic primary
voters, called me “the best choice for Hispanics.”
The New York League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, and Democracy
for New York City have all lent their support in the last few weeks, and our
campaign was recently joined by Hotel Trades Council political director Josh
Gold. Josh, the architect of the union’s cutting-edge turnout operation –
will oversee our Get Out the Vote Efforts, joining a veteran crew of
political operatives and hundreds of dedicated volunteers and interns.
This campaign has all the momentum right now, but we’ll need your help to
keep it going and ride this wave to a victory on June 26.
